Top Anheuser-Busch marketing executive is leaving after collapse in Bud Light sales

The parent company of Anheuser-Busch, AB InBev, has announced that its top U.S. marketing executive, Jorn Socquet, will be departing the company after its March-quarter sales report showed a double-digit decline in Bud Light sales. Socquet, who joined the company in 2011, had overseen the global Budweiser and Bud Light brands as well as AB InBev’s innovation pipeline.

In response to the news, AB InBev said in a statement that Socquet, “Helped drive a significant transformation in the marketing operation and culture, paving the way for new and innovative approaches to the beer category. He also led the Bud Light and Budweiser revitalization initiatives in the U.S. marketplace.”

The company has not yet named a replacement for Socquet, but plans to do so in the near future.
