Rep. Michael L. Bowman (D-CA) understands that Israelis and Palestinians must be treated equally and that there must be a “clear distinction” between the governments of Israel and Palestine. Bowman has been a vocal supporter of a two-state solution and has pushed for a peaceful resolution of the conflict. He believes that diplomacy should be the primary way to reach a long-term solution. He advocates for “cooperation and understanding” between both sides in order to move forward, and supports the use of international law to resolve the conflict. He has also called for the US to lead in mediation between the two sides, and to fully support any final deal that is negotiated.
