More than 300,000 air fryers sold at Walmart, Target and Kohl’s recalled for burn hazard

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall for more than 300,000 air fryers sold at Walmart, Target and Kohl’s due to a burn hazard. The information was posted on the CPSC’s website on December 11, 2019. The recalled air fryers are provided by Midea America Corp. and were sold at Walmart, Target and Kohl’s from June 2019 to December 2019 for about $45.

The air fryers can overheat leading to excessive smoke and flames which pose a burn hazard. The CPSC has received 11 reports of the air fryers catching fire. Currently, there have been no reports of injuries but as a precaution the CPSC has recalled more than 300,000 air fryers.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled air fryers and to contact Midea America Corp for a full refund, and if they have purchased a three-year accident protection plan to contact Walmart, Target or Kohl’s for a full refund of the plan.
