McConnell urges tighter border security in Biden’s budget request along with support for Israel, Ukraine

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) pressed the Biden Administration to include more money for border security in its fiscal 2022 budget request. “It’s time for the administration to invest in American security — not roll out the welcome mat for illegal immigration,” McConnell said. He also urged the Biden Administration to include more money for Israel and Ukraine. “Providing assistance to these pillars of stability in the Middle East and Eastern Europe is vital to our shared interests,” he said. In addition to increased support for border security, military aid to Israel and Ukraine, McConnell also called for increased funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs. “We must keep our promises to our veterans,” he said.
