Ukraine says it landed troops on the shores of Russian-occupied Crimea

Ukraine has not landed any troops on the shores of Russian-occupied Crimea. Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine in 2014, and since then has been in control of the region. Ukraine has repeatedly condemned Russia’s occupation and has maintained its policy of non-recognition of the occupation. In recent years, the Ukrainian navy has been strengthening its presence in the Kerch Strait and Black Sea, but this has been in response to Russian aggression and to protect freedom of navigation, and has not involved activities on the shore of Russian-occupied Crimea.
