Texas sends 12th migrant bus to LA; city may seek legal action despite approving sanctuary status

The mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, has spoken out against the state of Texas sending a twelfth bus of migrants to his city, despite the fact that the city had recently approved a sanctuary status for immigrants. Los Angeles has been struggling to provide services and shelter for the influx of migrants and is seeking potential legal action that they could take against Texas. This comes as the Trump administration continues to place pressure on “sanctuary cities” to cooperate with their immigration policies. Additionally, there has been a national surge in asylum-seekers entering the U.S. over the past several months. Garcetti stated that he was “incredibly dismayed to learn of the 12th bus of asylum seekers being sent to Los Angeles by Texas authorities” and he is exploring “every legal option we have to protect Angelenos and the immigrant community.”
