As US elections approach, the chair of the House Artificial Intelligence (AI) Task Force is indicating a push for legislative measures concerning the use and regulation of AI technology. The Task Force intends to address growing concerns over the misuse of AI, especially in regards to deepfakes, cybersecurity threats, and the protection of user data.
The chair emphasized the importance of crafting policy that would protect against abuses while promoting innovation and maintaining civil liberties. Moreover, the Task Force also acknowledges the need to further bolster AI education
