New York Representative Brian Higgins announced in October 2020 that he plans to step down from Congress in February 2021. He represents New York’S 26th Congressional District and has served since 2005. Higgins cited his desire to pursue new challenges and the state of Democratic politics in the House of Representatives as reasons for his decision.
