In June 2019, four people were arrested by German authorities in Berlin, Brussels and Paris in a coordinated operation related to an alleged terrorist plot inspired by the Palestinian group Hamas. German police said the four suspects sought to use explosives to target political targets in Germany. Police also said the group had begun acquiring material to trigger explosions.
