Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has thrown her support behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the race for the Republican nomination for President in 2020. Reynolds told multiple news outlets on Wednesday that she is “tremendously proud” of DeSantis and his record.
Reynolds also hit back at criticisms from President Donald Trump, who had previously implied that DeSantis was not doing enough to help the Trump campaign. Reynolds reminded people that DeSantis and his team had done an “amazing job” helping Florida recover from and manage the coronavirus pandemic. She also pointed out that DeSantis had shown the “leadership and partnership” that she believes is essential for the nation’s future. Reynolds said that these attributes along with his “strong record” of supporting President Trump’s policies make DeSantis “the right candidate.”
