Delta has announced changes to its SkyMiles program that will make it harder to get access to airport lounges and earn elite status. The new rules will require customers to purchase higher fare ticket types in order to earn lounge access on certain flights and higher spending requirements to qualify for elite status. The changes are expected to take effect on October 1, 2019.
